Boy Scouts of America, Cherokee Area Council

Instilling values and skills for life by providing character development, active citizenship, leadership training, personal fitness, community service and outdoor experiences for youth ages 6 - 20.  Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Exploring, Venturers and Learning for Life are a part of the Council's services.

Moccasin Bend Girl Scout Council

Program emphasizes ethical, social, and leadership development, career exploration, service to others and active citizenship for all girls ages 5 to 17 regardless of race, creed, economic status or handicapping conditions.

Encourages youth to develop skills and talents through special interest groups, after school programs, camps and other activities.  Through hands-on learning activities and community involvement, 4-Hers develop and strengthen life skills.

Provides a variety of services for adults age 60 or older including hot lunches, health monitoring, field trips, art classes, crafts, and social services.  The center also provides outreach and information/referral services.

Provides quality hearing evaluations, hearing aids, speech/language evaluations, speech therapy for children, assistive listening devices and referral sources for the hearing and speech impaired.

This Council supports the adult education program by providing teachers through the summer, materials, busing, child care, tutor training materials, incentive programs, and equipment such as computers.

Avalon Center Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program

Provides free and confidential services including emergency shelter, court advocacy, counseling, support groups, and community education programs.  Services include support for children.

Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area, Inc.

Offers kidney patients and families transportation, medicine, food and nutritional supplements, assists in public education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.

Coordinates activities of veterans groups in Rhea County.  Provides free transportation to Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities in Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, and Nashville, Tennessee
